We Take the Arrival of Your New Child Personally
Celebrate the birth or adoption of your child and welcome her or him into the individual and human family even if you do not belong to a religious community. Life moments, such as the birth of a child, can be celebrated beautifully and distinctively.
A birth celebration and baby welcoming ceremony is a secular and humanistic alternative to a religious birth celebration, such as baptism in Christianity, or b'rit milah or b'rit shalom (female birth celebration) in Judaism. Birth celebrations seek to honor the heritage of the child and the names they are given. The ceremony welcomes the child into the community, celebrates his or her family and cultural connections, and honors guideparents (godparents) and other significant people in the lives of the child. |
